Having a hard time packing up and leaving for Florida. We have had such a wonderful time! In the short time we have been here we have seen the beginning of color, SNOW before Halloween, full on color and then the beginning of the browns leading to winter. We so enjoyed the cabin. We think you should call it "Bear Den" with all the cute bear decor. The place isso comfy and the property was great for our little guy to run & play. Loved feeding the donkeys carrots and even caught 3 fish in the pond. Can't wait to return to this wonderful place in the trees! Dan, Missy, and Parker Taylor |

We enjoyed our wonderful vacation at your cabin. Thank you for allowing us to stay here. The cabin had everything we needed with plenty of space for the kids. They explored the area thoroughly. It is really beautiful and special here. Thanks! Marissa, Vivian, Dylan, Alex, and Nicholas |

We really enjoyed our stay at your cabin! It provided us with a comfortable, tranquil, and peaceful place to relax during our visit. While the purpose of our trip to the mountains was a sad one, your cabin was a perfect sanctuary for me and my family. We all loved the front porch and the rocking chairs and our grandson Aaron quickly claimed the children's bedroom with the twin beds as his room. We will pass the word to our friends and family that your cabin as a great place to stay during a visit to the mountains. Thank you very much for your support and understanding. Debbie and Cecil |

What an amazing vacation! The cabin is in the middle of a mountain and has the most amazing views from every window. As soon as we walked into the cabin, we immediately felt right at home. It was nicer than we imagined - even with all the pictures on the website. In our group there were two families, 4 adults and 4 kids), and we never felt crowded. The cabin was perfect for both families and would not have felt too big if it was just one family. Right away the kids found the hammock and throughout the week everyone in the group enjoyed some peaceful time there and on the porch swing. We also enjoyed a fire in the fireplace every night. It was wonderful that there was wood already cut and ready to use! Each day the kids enjoyed their walk down the hill to see and feed the donkeys. While they were there, they spent time in the 2-story treehouse. Everyone had fun exploring North Carolina and Tennessee. We even saw a bear in the Smoky Mountains! There is so much to see and do. We made memories to last a lifetime. When our time in the cabin came to an end, no one in the group wanted to leave. Before we left, the kids decided that we needed to come back to see what everything looked like during the other seasons. We've already started planning our trip next year. We can't thank you enough! Let me start by saying this is the ideal place for a vacation whose memories you will always treasure, and by saying that the pictures do not even begin do it justice. For more details, keep reading. Cataloochee Mountain Cabin is perfectly situated in a little mountainside enclave, far enough from town that you’re well into the country yet close enough that getting to town is easy. It’s big enough to comfortably accommodate families and small groups – we had plenty of elbow room with four adults and three kids – yet at the same time it’s small enough that a couple on a romantic getaway would not feel like they rented too much space. The cabin is perfectly clean, its furniture and beds are comfortable, and it could not be better equipped as far as amenities are concerned. The grill on the front deck is ingeniously wired into the cabin’s gas line so you don’t have to worry about running out of propane while you’re cooking. You can actually use the fireplace (which many rental homes don’t allow) and there was a tremendous amount of firewood waiting for us. Our three-year-old had the time of her life sledding down the driveway, making snow angels, making snowballs, and eating the snow cream we made. Plus, we parents lived it up by sledding down the driveway after dark when the kids were in bed. If you like to ski or snowboard, you’re close to Cataloochee Ski Resort. If you like to hike, you’re close to many miles of wilderness trails on public lands, or you can just meander the enclave’s rural roads (if you take the first left turn above the cabin, then the first right turn you come to next, you’ll crest the ridge and come upon a view that is one of the best I’ve ever seen). This place is so wonderful that we plan to return again, even though my family has owned its own mountaintop cabin since 1984 that I’ve always considered my “home away from home.” John Stanton |

We've heard wonderful stories from friends that have spent time in the cabin. We just booked our trip. It was an easy process and we received great information on things to do in the area. Our trip is scheduled for early spring. We'll be sure to let you know about our trip and send along some pictures to share. Kerri & Rick Swift |
